CISB and Brazilian Army celebrate conclusion of executive training focused on Innovation and Technology

On March 20th, the Swedish Brazilian Research and Innovation Center (CISB), the Linkoping University and the Swedish Armed Forces delivered certificates of Executive Innovation Management Course for 9 of Brazilian Army. This is the first result of a mutual cooperation agreement on Scientific, Technological fields and Innovation (ST & I) signed between CISB and the Department of Science and Technology of the Brazilian Army Command in August 2013.

With 10 modules, eight attended in Sweden and two in Brazil, the course is in line with the plans of the Brazilian Army to transform their process of Research and Development (R & D) and establish the Technological Polo Guaratiba, in Rio de Janeiro, for promote innovation and develop projects in partnership with industry and academia.

In addition to lectures, workshops and case studies, the militaries had the chance to visit companies such as SAAB and Scania (members of CISB) and technology parks, as Lindholmen and Mjärdevi, besides the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the Centre of the Swedish Armed Forces Land Warfare.

"We are pleased with the conclusion of the first project, which ends with success and we are already negotiating new classes for 2014 and 2015, says Alessandra Holmo, Managing Director (MD) at CISB.


Francisco Taborda, CISB consultant, points out that the training had an excellent advantage and the expectation is that in 2014 more two courses will be provided to new classes of militaries.


The delivery of certificates took place at the Military Institute of Engineering (IME), in Rio de Janeiro.
