CISB and Brazilian Army have signed a mutual cooperation agreement

São Paulo, August, 2013 – Earlier this month, the Brazilian Army Command, through its Department of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with the Swedish-Brazilian Research and Innovation Centre (CISB) aiming to develop partnerships for mutual cooperation in the fields of Science, Technology and innovation (ST & I).
The implementation of projects in the areas of Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) is among the objectives of the agreement that also has the intention to promote the exchange of technical resources, students, researchers and teachers. Seminars, symposia and meetings are also part of the activities to be undertaken to promote the interaction between institutions and research groups from Sweden and Organizations of the Brazilian Army.

The MoU covers various aspects related to the performance of activities in the scientific, technological and management innovation area, which are of common interest to CISB and Army Command, as recommended in the National Defense Strategy. The document also defines the obligations of the participants, including the contribution of both parties for the continued improvement of the Brazilian Army organizations, especially those that are part of the Program Transformation System Army Science and Technology (PTSCTEx) and the deployment of the future system Science, Technology and Innovation Army (SCTIEx).

The operationalization of this memorandum of understanding will be done through the development of specific work plans that detail, in scope and in time, projects of mutual interest to be developed.
