Registration open: CISB announces the 4th call of projects in partnership with CNPq and Saab

The grants come from an agreement between the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), CISB and Saab AB, a technology company for the defense and security segments, focused on Innovation, based in Sweden. For this call will be offered 15 scholarships, 10 for postdoctoral and five sandwich doctorate.

The goal is to attract Brazilian researchers to develop their research projects in renowned Swedish universities and centers of Research and Development at Saab and thus increase the collaborative network of research, development and innovation in the aviation area between the two countries. "Last call for project had a record number of subscribers, 250% higher than the last. This shows us that the interest to develop research in Sweden is increasing too. Our goal is to continue the program and focus resources on areas of greatest interest to CISB, Saab and our partners in Brazil and Sweden", Says Alessandra Holmo, Managing Director of CISB.

Besides the opportunity to develop their research in renowned university in Sweden in exchange for an average of 6 to 12 months, the guest researchers may still hold internships or participate in research projects at Saab, according to the interest of both parties.

In the three previous calls, about 30 researchers from public and private institutions of the South, Southeast and Northeast Brazil were able to develop their projects of excellence in universities, as Chalmers University of Technology, University College of Skövde, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS) and Linköping University.

Those interested in participating in the call may subscribe to the CISB collaborative platform ( until the day May 8, 2015 or Carlos Chagas platform until May 15. From the first moment you can interact with academic research groups in Sweden and with researchers from Saab to build the project proposal.


Applicants must meet the requirements of the standard of individual grants outside the Postdoctoral modalities Abroad (PDE) and PhD Sandwich Abroad (SWE), for example, be enrolled in courses in Brazil formally recognized by CAPES, not be retired, have knowledge of the language used at the host institution (in this case English), have consent of the graduate course coordinator and counselors in the country and abroad, among others.
