Success Program
All the work developed by CISB - Swedish-Brazilian Research and Innovation Center - for the Open Innovation Learning Week in Sweden 2018 (OILW) was crucial to the great success of the edition, which took place from November 5 to 9, in 4 Swedish cities. The 2018 program managed to form an excellent delegation, which united 20 representatives of Brazilian Industry, Academia, Research Institutes and Government. In turn, the participants were able to exchange experiences, get to know the renowned innovation ecosystem of Sweden, envision opportunities for cooperation and establish first contact with potential partners.
RISE IVF AB, one of the organizations visited by the delegation, was also eager to know more about the Brazilians. For Mats Werke, researcher on component manufacturing at the institution and responsible for the visit, it was very important to meet top executives from Brazil in order to be sure that the meeting will lead to the creation of new collaborative networks in different research areas.
The head of the delegation and CISB’s MD, Alessandra Holmo, said that this group’s motivation to participate in the mission in Sweden was to get to know the country's innovative vein and to understand how the cooperation between the countries can benefit their institutions. "We met a number of CISB associates and partners. We have attended to various presentations, discussed different aspects of Sweden's innovation ecosystem and opportunities for cooperation in different areas. We returned to Brazil with many connections, and the role of CISB throughout 2019 will be to ensure the continuity of these relations initiated during the program,” she says.
The CISB, through its innovation platform, already has a well-structured cooperation between Swedish and Brazilian universities, research institutes and industries, and after the mission, Alessandra believes that she can expand her work with other actors. "We have strengthened our relationship with several institutions in both countries and we hope to catalyze Brazil and Sweden's cooperation through this initiative," she plans.
