INTRODUCTION

The workshop is organized by the Swedish Brazilian Research and Innovation Center (CISB) and Linköping University (LiU) and aims to discuss the complex and wide field of Systems Engineering, and how it can promote innovation. With a more complex and connected world with shorter cycle times, Systems Engineering is poised to provide the tools and methods to manage this complexity and create new innovations. However, the field is not established as a singular discipline, but rather many groups are dealing with different subset of it. Therefore, it is important to maintain a discussion where a common view of the field can be established, where the different actors can acknowledge the contributions from different groups and find the interfaces of collaboration.

The workshop will discuss the topic ranging from the aspects regarding technology, management, applications, research and education, and is open to anyone with an interest to the field.
Questions to be address are e.g:

What do we mean by Systems Engineering?

There will be invited speeches both from university and from industry. There will also be tutorials arranged regarding software tools.
