The INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON GREEN CORRIDORS: European Experience and Brazilian Perspectives will be held on 15th and 16th September 2015 at FEI University, in São Bernardo do Campo. The workshop is organized by the Center for Innovation in Logistics and Port Infrastructure at the University of São Paulo (USP-CILIP), Swedish-Brazilian Research and Innovation Centre (CISB) and the Lindholmen Science Park (LSP), with participation of Swedish and Brazilian researchers and industry.
The "SuperGreen Project" as it is called in Europe, started in 2011 and focuses on the development of logistics solutions and an action plan for the implementation of Green Corridors. The project of green corridors includes businesses, governments, universities and research centers. The project studies new technologies, new systems and new forms of management. It aims at clean sustainable transport, not polluter in any of its aspects, low cost and high level of service, improving competitiveness of inputs and products handled by the associated Supply Chain.
Thus, sustainability goals have not been defineded in Brazil yet. Besides, it is high time the country adopted an effective transport policy.
This international workshop meets the inevitable future for transportation in Brazil, that is, investigating, researching and innovating on the issue of Sustainability, especially as introducing less polluting modes, such as short sea shipping, using and/or developing sustainable technologies for the modals currently used in the country and assessing the prospects to implement Green Corridors in Brazil.
