CISB platform offers unique opportunity to establish a research program in the area of traffic safety and autonomous vehicle between Brazil and Sweden. In partnership with Volvo Cars, co-organizes the workshop that will provide a meeting between industry, academia and government to discuss relevant research questions in the area.

Volvo Cars is one of the industries that most invest in R&D&I addressing traffic safety nowadays. Its state of the art technology developed throughout its history has put the company on the top of mind when it comes to the subject. One solution that has been walking side by side with traffic safety and has been highly prioritized by Volvo's research strategy is autonomous driving, a broad line of research which addresses from information technology and embedded systems to human behavior and traffic environment.

For some time now, Volvo has turned its attention to Brazil and has recognized the great potential of the country but at the same time, the complexity of its mobility scenario. Aiming to better understand our traffic environment and identify possibilities to start R&D collaboration with national universities and research institutes, linked to the areas mentioned, Volvo welcomes Brazilian stakeholders for experience sharing and cooperation discussions in the workshop Swedish-Brazilian Research Collaboration Opportunities in Traffic safety and Autonomous Vehicles.
